Five takeaways

What she said, in her words.

Each quote is taken from the episode. The time beside it is where it starts in the player.

  1. At

    Alignment over approval.

An approval-based decision starts with what they will think, and whether they will be disappointed. An aligned one asks what matters to you, what you are moving toward, and what you would choose if nobody else had a vote.

“If everybody gets a vote, then you end up living a life that everybody approves of except you.”
  2. At

    Replacing the ors with ands.

Profit and purpose. Motherhood and entrepreneurship. AND does not mean equal time: there are seasons when the children need her more, seasons for the business, for the marriage, and seasons when she needs herself more.

“AND means I refuse to believe that honoring one part of myself requires abandoning another.”
  3. At

    GRACE, in real time.

She walks through the GRACE Framework™ on a call, in the middle of a trip, telling her a seven-figure client was gone. Get grounded with the breath until the nervous system settles. Recognize what is true, and what is not. Align with the next step. Choose a better thought. Embody it.

“Not a perfect thought… just simply a better thought that is believable to myself and my nervous system.”
  4. At

    The interior is the strategy.

A leader brings fear or clarity into the room before saying a word, and the organization takes it on: fewer risks, slower decisions, problems that stop surfacing. A grounded leader can look at the same numbers and ask what the information is trying to say.

“When I’m coaching someone, I typically don’t look at the business problem first. I work on the person who’s about to solve the business problem.”
  5. At

Your outcome does not define you.

Her one idea for a listener’s next big decision. Decisions get heavier than they need to be when the outcome is asked to prove something: if it works, I’m successful; if they approve, I’m worthy. Sometimes, she says, the problem is not that we haven’t achieved enough. It is that we are giving achievement a job it was never designed to do.

“What would I choose if I didn’t need this outcome to prove anything about who I am?”
